The 3rd Joint Meeting of the European Calcified Tissue Society & the International Bone and Mineral Society is designated for a maximum of 27 hours of European external CME credits and the ECTS Training Course: Joints: formation, function and failure with a focus on osteoarthritis for a maximum of 6 hours of European external CME credits. ECTS/ASBMR Debate – Let the battle begin!
As part of our continued collaboration with the ASBMR, the opening ceremony will include the popular joint ECTS/ASBMR debate. This debate has developed over the past 4 years and takes place at our respective annual congresses in Europe and the US to discuss topical issues and encourage lively debate and audience participation. The debate will take place on Saturday 7 May at 19.00 and Thomas Einhorn (USA) and Bo Abrahamsen (Denmark) will discuss if Atypical femoral shaft fractures are a consequence of biphosphonate therapy.

Opening ceremony/Welcome Reception
Saturday 7 May
20:40-22:00 – Megaron Athens ICC
The OPENING CEREMONY will take place in the main auditorium of the Megaron Athens ICC following the ECTS/ASBMR debate, and will include traditional Greek dancing and music. Delegates will then be invited to join the WELCOME RECEPTION to share some Greek hospitality whilst meeting friends and colleagues. A unique traditional Greek band, including the harp and flute, will be playing music from famous Greek composers. Drinks and light refreshments are included free of charge, but delegates are requested to register for this event by selecting the appropriate box on the registration form.
